Our art sets come with tutorials and tips booklets designed by our resident artists to give you everything you need to kick start your creative quest. These brilliant, know-how Guide Booklets are chock-full of tips, tricks and techniques for knowing your tools and to assist in your quest to transfer on to paper what you see in your mind.

Every Castle Arts set includes a 5 or 6 step tutorial, guiding you through the colors and techniques used to create the image used on the respective packaging. For example, the 72 Color Pencil Zipper set includes a 5 step tutorial showing you how to draw and color a Gryphon.

Furthermore, every Castle Arts Color Pencil set comes with a 28 page guide to using color pencils. The guide teaches you how to take care of your pencils, from sharpening methods to holding your pencil to achieve different styles and effects. It explains the color pencil range, light and form, pencil pressures and strokes, blending, layering and texturing techniques as well as more tutorials, a glossary and details about joining the Castle Club.

Our 72 professional artist's, break-resistant pencils feature rich, creamy, velvety leads that are color grouped, named and numbered. They are collated into three 'flip-over' leaves and protected in a smart carry-case with a strikingly illustrated zipper sleeve. Every pencil is branded with the Castle Arts logo, named and numbered for easy selection and reference.

The pencils' purest quality wax cores enable creamy lay down, velvety smooth application and controlled layering to achieve soft, saturated, natural looks where colors merge from one shade to another and edges run from hard to soft. You can put your colored pencils through their paces by varying pressure to control density and deploy techniques like hatching, cross-hatching, contouring and stippling – or put on the pressure to achieve that rich, burnished sheen.
